Ms. Johnson is pleased to serve as the Reading Specialist at Hazelwood East Middle. She recently retired from St. Louis Public Schools, where she spent her career supporting students and teachers in roles including classroom teacher, consultant teacher, and Academic Instructional Coach. She enjoys coaching teachers, providing professional development, and sharing instructional resources to help educators strengthen their practice and ensure all students have meaningful learning experiences.

She earned a degree in Elementary Education from Harris‑Stowe State College, a master’s degree in Education Administration from Lindenwood University, and holds a Special Reading Certification for Grades K–12. She believes all students are capable of learning and that, by using varied strategies and approaches, every student can achieve success. She brings an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to her work, and she is thrilled to support both students and teachers in Hazelwood.

Outside of education, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and shopping.
